Tuskys Supermarkets is a leading multi-category retailer operating 61 stores across Kenya and Uganda.

Challenges
Tuskys, one of the largest retail hypermarkets in Kenya, was using Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 and LS NAV for POS operations. They faced major challenges in updating sales data in NAV in real time. Their database size exceeded 3TB, with 107 full user licenses, 73 stores, and 510 POS terminals. The biggest issues were POS replication and purchase order posting, which took more than an hour. A UK-based partner had previously attempted to resolve these problems but was unsuccessful
Solutions
LS Apps conducted a detailed discovery session and system analysis of the existing implementation. The root cause was identified: during document posting, the entire database would lock because Dynamics NAV 2009 lacked a queuing feature. LS Apps developed a custom queuing system to manage document posting and resolved POS replication issues
Results
The system now performs seamlessly without delays in financial postings, and POS replication issues have been fully resolved. This improvement enhanced operational efficiency and enabled LS Apps to secure the AMC support for Tuskys Hypermarket
